Heavenly Blackberry Pie

Blackberry Pie! Now there is something worth living for. Nana braved the heat and the thorns at a secret South Wairarapa location the other day, and brought home a container full of blackberry jewels. Oh the options! We started with homemade blackberry icecream, which was out of this world, and the next day moved on to blackberry pie. Gosh it's good. I'm suddenly ecstatic about the idea of free blackberries, and am feeling very motivated to hunt down some edible ones a little closer to home - right after I've finished eating the leftovers.

I hope they have Blackberry Pie in heaven. I really do.

You don't need a recipe. Just pastry, loads of blackberries, and some stewed apple drizzled with honey.
Yum!

Do you have a secret blackberry patch you'd like to share on the world wide web? I don't have that many readers...

  1. There are heaps along the Hutt river. They are still quite tart at the moment but the girls and I had fun picking some while out on a bike ride by the river the other day. We also found a secret stash up in the hills in Stokes Valley today while out walking. Was a little hard to get to but boy did we manage a good haul. Nothing quite like making something beautiful out of free pickings. Lovely.

    1. Brilliant! I wondered if there would probably be some by the river, and I KNEW you would know! We'll have to get out there sometime. We'll leave you (and Nadine) some ;)

    1. Yes! Now that would make a change! How fun. I think I have seen someone picking them on the road that went from my place to yours actually.
