7/52

A portrait of my children every week for a year.

Esther: Seriously loves jumping! Here she is on the back of Nana's chair after dinner, about to jump on to the sofa. She seems to have decided over the last couple of days that just saying the word you mean is much easier than anything else. She doesn't need long sentences, but can generally get out the important words.

Reuben: He was drawing the other day, and writing out letters. On a scrap of paper he wrote an R for Reuben, an E for Esther, an M for Mummy and a D for Daddy. I was amazed that he knows the four of us are supposed to be a family unit, and that he thought of that on his own. Like so many things, it was lovely and sad at the same time. I've kept the piece of paper.
